Two Down

Workout #2 at Curves this afternoon was great -- they were playing mostly Village People hits, and you just cannot help but move. Yes, I wanna be a macho man.

Had an autograph party for Louise Shaffer this afternoon. You might remember her as Rae Woodard on Ryan's Hope if you're a baby boomer. She was quite the B-word type -- on camera. She is just the warmest, nicest, most engaged and engaging person you could ever hope to meet in person! This was her third trip to the store, and when she walked in she turned to me and said, "You're the online nut, right? Have you seen my blog?"

She remembered from over a YEAR ago (her last trip here) that I was heavily involved in an online group. Yowza. I'm guessing she never botched a line!

Anyway, that was fun -- not much of a turnout - I think the time of day stunk for a party, but we got her when we could get her, and had lots of orders for signed books so she stayed busy.

But here's the cool thing. Her publisher didn't want to go to the expense of getting her from OUR store (which they were just gonna bypass in the interest of $$) to her next signing in Fairhope so she was gonna take a GREYHOUND BUS to Fairhope.

She's like a FAMOUS person, and she was gonna take a GREYHOUND BUS!!

I love her.

As it happens, the local person that her publisher contacted to pick her up at the airport had met her the last two times and was as crazy about her as we are, and she arranged for a limo to pick her up at the bookstore and drive her there.

I need a limo. And an entourage, since Louise clearly doesn't use hers.

It was just a nice day all the way around, but here it is 7:00 and Sweet Husband has just called to tell me he's finally on his way home from work, so now I need to work up something for supper that won't look like a combination of everything we've already had this week.

Which it will be.
