Well, now that I'm the proud owner of a much loved and yet fully functioning laptop, I get to have some fun while I'm out here in the den.
So... we're gonna Channel Surf.
Channel 2 (Fox) 8:02 pm - One of those animated shows -- not sure what it is -- maybe South Park (?)... Opening riff featured Jesus as a cartoon character doing a song and dance. I am not amused.
Channel 3 (UPN, I think) 8:07 pm: Commercial for Maybelline mascara Define-A-Lash. Not loving the green applicator.
Channel 4 (ABC) 8:08 pm: Chase Freedom Cards commercial.
Channel 5 (PBS) 8:09 pm: OOOH -- Antiques Roadshow... Some guy trying to see if a chair he has belonged to Abraham Lincoln. They were bought for $6,000.00.... The dealer seems to think that MAYBE the chair matches one in a drawing of Lincoln and his cabinet... this could be good... (while I wait, shall I tell you that Lincoln is in my family tree?)... okay... here it comes... the set of 8 chairs -- $80,000 to $100,000 if they can be verified.
Channel 7 (TBS) 8:12 pm: Rerun of Friends, which I used to love until it became "Friends With Benefits."
Channel 8 (CBS) 8:13 pm: CSI.. the original and still the best, but am I the only one who hates the squishy sounds when they are doing autopsies?
Channel 9 (WGN) 8:14 pm: Some video show, this one apparently dwelling on the tacky stuff people do on videotape. Some guy set up a hidden camera to catch his roomie stealing from him. EEEWWWW.... one of them just picked her nose, and wiped it on his bedspread. This is art, people.
Channel 11 (NBC) 8:15: Not sure what this is, but it's got a Baldwin in it, so flick, flick.
Channel 12 (Weather Channel) 8:16: Some commercial with a guy in an Avis car. I want weather, people.
Channel 14 (QVC) 8:17 pm: Preview of what's to come. A bed that pumps up. I may get one of those for the nights I have to sleep in the den... and here comes Lisa, sellin' shoes for walking.
Channel 15(No clue) 8:18 pm: Some old movie. Why don't women wear hats anymore? Why don't men? Maybe because they were only available in black and white.
Channel 16 (No clue) 8:19 pm: I don't even know why we have this channel tuned in. It's not even a channel that's available, so the screen is always black.
Channel 17 (ABC Family) 8:20 pm: Dancers. Sweating. Conflict. Dance instructor is a very bad actress. Trying for "hard ass" look.... but only getting as far as "need Ex-Lax."
Channel 21 (Lifetime) 8:21 pm: Commercial for a movie where, apparently, a girl puts on a fat suit to see how fat girls are treated. I have a word for you, and it's only got four letters, and if you aren't careful you step in it alot on a farm. There. Just saved the network a whole lot of money.
Channel 22 (Nick at Night) 8:22 pm: Rerun of the show with the Olsen Twins, before they were anorexic, and only obnoxious. But at least I know what became of shoulder pads -- the cast of this show used them all up.
Channel 23: (Hallmark) 8:23 pm: Some movie with cowboys. They are very clean, and the women all look very well-rested. Yep, there's a slice of real life.
Channel 24 (Jetix) 8:24 pm: Cartoons with blasting noises. I'm sure I'm alive, so this is only a virtual hell.
Channel 25 (Disney) 8:25 pm: Ever notice how pretty the colors are on all the shows on this channel?
Channel 26 (Cartoon Network) 8:25 pm: FLICK
Channel 27 (ESPN) 8:26 pm: Commercial for Arkansas travel. As if.
Channel 29 (ESPN2) 8:27 pm: Hockey = legalized assault on blades.
Channel 31 (Fox Sports Network) 8:27 pm: Talk show with has-beens. There's a good reason football players ought to stay in school.
Channel 33 (FoxNews) 8:28 pm: Commercial for a car... I don't get car commercials these days.
Channel 34 (Not Sure) 8:28 pm: Commercial for a movie with Richard Gere. Called the Hoax. Appropriate.
Channel 35 (CNBC) 8:29 pm: That game show with Howie Mandel. It's sad how fast I can get caught up in this one if I'm not careful -- NO DEAL.
Channel 36 (Not sure) 8:30 pm: Commercial for a movie with Richard Gere. Called the Hoax. Appropriate.
Channel 37 (CNN) 8:31. Talking head with a bad haircut. FLICK.
Oops. The husband is here, and he wants to watch Survivor, and he doesn't seem to understand the social significance of this post.....
So, until next time.

Don't ever eat leftover spaghetti while watching an episode of CSI that you taped. Trust me on this.
I hate it when I turn on the weather channel and there not weather. False advertising.
Oh, you just KNOW there is weather going on somewhere, so it's more like they are WITHHOLDING the information from you.
Ugh! The show with the Olsen Twins was "Full House." WAY too much sugar for a dime!
And you didn't even GET to the FOOD Network! :P
