Everybody I know has mixed emotions about something in their lives. Some of these are very serious, those "life and death" things that those of us in this generation either are wrestling with right now or will wrestle with in the relatively near future. Some of them are silly, but preoccupy us nonetheless: are red shoes okay with navy dresses, and in this time of environmental awareness, are e-mail thank you cards really okay?
But I ran square dead head-on into my own mixed emotions today.
See, it's like this. I keep a spreadsheet for certain grocery items I habitually buy, in order to know when I'm getting a really good buy, and when I'm gettin' ripped off.
The big items that I buy nearly week in/week out are as follows: Total cereal, milk, frozen meals, Nature's Own Double Fiber wheat bread, Cheerios, bananas, Mayfield banana popsicles, and Fiber One cereal.
Anyway, I went to Super Foods yesterday afternoon because I have discovered that they are significantly lower on the cereals and bread stuff than Publix, and because I had some coupons for the cereals that were fixin' to expire. Well. I got home, put the receipt next to my computer so I could spreadsheet the info today (or whenever the air conditioning got fixed and I could stand to sit at my desktop computer), and when I came home for lunch today I got all set to enter the information.
I believe I will just let this speak for itself, after telling you this: SHE NEVER ASKED.
Hot darn -- I saved $1.80.
But WHAT THE HECK???
