This has just been a week, people.
a First off, Spring appears to have landed, and YIPPS for that! I'm enjoying my walks in the afternoons something fierce, but I gotta get back to Curves, too. I've been slackin' the last couple weeks there. .... But if you go down the very bottom of this page you'll see my fancy ticker, and by the time today is over I will have met my First Quarter 2008 Walk goal!
a Henry and I went to our favorite restaurant for dinner Thursday night, and guess who was there? Yep. Live and in person with his lovely wife. We spoke to them briefly -- I told him that we'd been glad to see him in church with us the previous Sunday, and she said she'd have been there but she had to cook lunch. Sheesh. Found out later that she'd given her house staff the day off to spend with their families. Say what you want about them, that's just a really lovely thing to do. Mostly, what I love about them is that they travel around with no entourage. Just them and their car. Cool.
a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday my SIL/Boss person was at the beach with her family, so I got to be the Big Cheese. I really enjoy doing the computer stuff she normally does, and it was hard to get back to the regular stuff on Thursday and Friday.
a My quarterly column appears in the paper today. I was much happier this time with the light editing (meaning they didn't slash through it with a weed-wacker like they did the last time, but some of the changes confound me, nonetheless. )
a Did taxes yesterday. If our income decreases any more we are going to have to start selling blood or first-born children. The "maybe we should sell the piano" discussions will be ensuing soon, pending the outcome of a salary review by the HR person at the dealership.
a On a much brighter note (hopefully this won't sound sad if you read it after the game tonight), GO WILDCATS!!! I love a good Cinderella team. The last time they were involved in March Madness was 1969, when my oldest brother was there as a sophomore. His daughter graduated from there not too terribly long ago, so I think a case could be made that in order for the 'cats to be contenders, they need an Upchurch.
a Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, we'll be heading out today to see this. I'm smilin' just thinkin' about it!
